GALVALUME®

Galvalume® is a coated steel product that is widely used for Metal Roofing and Siding applications.  Galvalume® is often confused with galvanized primarily from the name and the similarity in looks but they couldn’t be more different. Galvalume® is made up of 55% Aluminum and 45% zinc. Galvalume® was invented by Bethlehem Steel in 1972 has become an industry standard over the last few decades for a substrate and coated steel, and has become the choice of many for its incredible durability and performance against corrosion. AZ-55 Galvalume® is commonly used for bare Galvalume® where AZ-50 is made to be coated with paint such as SMP or Kynar 500®.
Galvalume® isn’t for all application such as coming into contact with masonry areas where galvanized is still recommend.
